Antidepressants safe to take with other medications
Patients who are being treated for depression may benefit from a prescription to buy Paxil or another antidepressant, even if they are taking medications for other health conditions, according to a new study published in the Annals of Family Medicine.
Patients who are being treated for depression may benefit from a prescription to buy Paxil or another antidepressant, even if they are taking medications for other health conditions, according to a new study published in the Annals of Family Medicine.
The researchers pointed out that despite being used for generations now, relatively little is known about how antidepressants interact with other medications. Furthermore, a few previous studies have shown that other medications may interfere with the activity of antidepressants. This may have the effect of preventing doctors from providing a prescription to buy Paxil when it may be appropriate.
For the study, the researchers tested the effects of 28 weeks of antidepressant treatment in patients who only suffered from depression and patients being treated depression in addition to hypertension, diabetes or arthritis.
The results showed that taking other medications had little impact on an individual's chances of achieving remission. Furthermore, no adverse reactions were associated with multiple treatments.
The researchers said their findings show that treating depression with a prescription to buy Paxil in patients taking other medications may be a viable therapeutic option.
