Patients across the country are being forced to find new pharmacies, as one of the largest national drug stores has stopped accepting prescriptions from the benefits management company Express Scripts, which handles millions of customers. This could represent an opportunity for many people to look into the benefits of Canadian internet pharmacies.
Shortly before Christmas, officials from Walgreens announced that it would stop accepting prescriptions from individuals with coverage through Express Scripts. Millions of people across the country with this coverage used Walgreens pharmacies.
The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that Walgreens made the decision because it is trying to transition out of being strictly a pharmacy. Officials want to focus more on health and lifestyle, offering more cosmetics and fresh food options.
However, this does little for the individuals who previously brought their prescriptions to a Walgreens. While looking for a new pharmacy may never be pleasant, the situation may represent an opportunity for people to lean more about the benefits of Canadian internet pharmacies. These providers are often able to supply medications at a much lower cost than American pharmacies.
